(Wisconsin Radio Network) New data shows Affordable Care Act health insurance enrollment is down in Wisconsin.
According to the Wisconsin Radio Network, about 45,000 fewer Wisconsinites are enrolled in ACA marketplace health plans after enhanced federal tax subsidies expired late last year.
New data from health news and policy organization KFF shows enrollment dropped 16%, from a peak of more than 306,000 to about 245,000 people. Many consumers cite rising costs as the reason for dropping or changing coverage.
Health experts warn a growing number of uninsured patients could increase financial pressure on hospitals and drive up costs across the health care system.
