Marshfield Fire Advises Approved Pyrotechnic Effects Will be Used at Concert on Wednesday at Central Wisconsin State Fair
Monday, August 24th, 2026 -- 9:00 AM
The Marshfield Fire Department has advised that approved theatrical pyrotechnic effects will be used during the Hairball concert at the Central Wisconsin State Fair on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
According to the Fire Department, Hairball Productions Company has received the necessary application approval and permit to use pyrotechnics during the performance. The use of the effects has also been approved by the Central Wisconsin State Fair Committee.
The pyrotechnics will consist of non-explosive aerial theatrical devices used periodically throughout the concert. The devices are designed for theatrical purposes, will operate for only a few seconds at a time, and have been tested to remain within the designated performance area.
Hairball Productions will have safety personnel and fire extinguishers available on stage during the performance. The Marshfield Fire Department will conduct a fire inspection of the site on the day of the event after the stage and pyrotechnic equipment have been fully set up.
These theatrical effects are part of the Hairball concert production. Concertgoers should be aware that they may see brief flashes, sparks, or other pyrotechnic effects during the performance.
The Central Wisconsin State Fair appreciates the public's understanding and looks forward to welcoming everyone to the Hairball concert on August 26. For questions regarding the pyrotechnic display or fire safety requirements, please contact the Marshfield Fire Department.
