Neillsville School Board Approves Masonry Bid and More at Recent School Board Meeting

The Neillsville School Board discussed the collaborative proposal from the Granton School District, but no action was taken.
The Board approved the hiring of a math interventionist in alignment with the Strategic Plan. Director of Buildings and Grounds Mark Spencer reported on concrete repairs; contractors onsite addressing final items; football field fencing; roof repairs; storage shed status; hail damage to auditorium roof; and pool repairs.
The Board also approved the quote from Ryan Opelt of Ryno’s Masonry in the amount of $11,200 for the repair of concrete by the elementary and fieldhouse doors, and middle school balcony doors.
The Board also approved the business office support days from CESA 10 at a rate of $775 per day, approved the Crisis Response Plan, and approved seven regular and one special needs bus routes for 2026-2027.
The Board also approved the offer versus serve contract for food service for the 2026-2027 school year, approved the Wisconsin Morning Milk Program, and approved the Federal Milk Program. The Board also approved the donation of $650 from the 90’s classes for students in need.
In employment matters, the Board approved the resignation of Cassie Reavley from her teaching assistant position, Liz Erickson from her teaching assistant position, Morgan Spencer from her administrative assistant position, Julia Backaus from her high school counselor position, Casandra Craig from her middle school softball coach position, Ed Grube from his high school assistant football coach position, and Angie McIntyre from her Connection Club advisor position.
The Board also approved the hiring of Rachel Ormond for the teaching assistant position, Gary Veltus for a food service assistant position, William Kohlwey for a hybrid bus driver and custodial position, Natasha Swiech for the health office assistant position, Jodi Morrin for the middle school/high school choir position, Shawn Ganther for the middle school football coach position, and Dominic Glassbrenner for the high school football assistant coach position.
The Board also heard the Administrator’s Report. District Administrator Corey Peterson reported on back-to-school information; budget updates; thank you card; annual notices to parents; and professional development focus areas for 2026-2027.
