Marshfield Medical Center Credit Union Holds Successful Community Book Drive

Marshfield Medical Center Credit Union (MMCCU) is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of its community book drive benefiting the book vending machine at Marshfield Children’s Hospital.

MMCCU members and community supporters donated 281 new books for young patients and visitors. The collection included popular chapter books for older readers as well as colorful, beautifully illustrated picture books for younger children.

In addition to the donated books, the drive generated $45 in cash contributions. Members of the local Altrusa chapter will use those funds toward an upcoming Scholastic Books order, bringing the drive’s total contribution to at least 300 books.

“The generosity shown by our members and community was wonderful to see,” said Tiffany Schara, Business Development Specialist at MMCCU. “Every book donated represents a new story, a welcome distraction and a moment of comfort for a child. We are grateful to everyone who helped make this drive such a success.”

The donated books will help keep the Marshfield Children’s Hospital book vending machine stocked with reading options for children of different ages and interests.

MMCCU extends its sincere appreciation to everyone who donated books or funds, as well as the local Altrusa chapter for helping turn the cash contributions into additional books for young readers.
