Clark County Sheriff's Department Warns of an Uptick in Scams Targeting Citizens and Businesses
Tuesday, July 28th, 2026 -- 11:00 AM
The Clark County Sheriff's Department is warning about an uptick in scams.
The Department says there has been a recent uptick in SCAMS to local businesses and citizens with calls coming from their supposed bank. A reminder to all, if you ever receive a call from someone claiming to be from your banking institution, be diligent and ask some questions before you share any information.
Ask for their phone number and extension, confirm the bank they are calling from is your bank, and ask for their name. Then tell them before you share anything, you will call them back.
Remember to never give out any personal information, such as a social security number, bank account numbers, etc. over the internet or by text. If you receive emails from your bank, double check and call your bank to confirm everything before responding or clicking on anything in the email.
It may take a few minutes to verify everything but it could save you a lot of time if your information is shared with the wrong person.
Feel free to contact us with questions and/or comments.
