Two Candidates Vying for the Title of 2026-27 Clark County Fairest of the Fair

The Fairest of the Fair is taking place on Wednesday, August 5th at 7pm in the Dairy Show Arena at the Clark County Fairgrounds in Neillsville.

There are two candidates vying for the title this year. Karcyn Schmitz of Neillsville, daughter of Kevin and Shelly Schmitz and sponsored by Schmitz Family Farm, LLC., is a 2026 graduate of Neillsville High School and will be attending CVTC this fall.

She was involved in several clubs including FFA, BLAST, Neillsville Girl Scouts, Connections Club, Big Buddy, National Honor Society, and was Miss Neillsville for 2024-25. She works at Marshfield Medical Center and has shown her dog and entered other items for judging at the Clark County Fair. 

Alexis Pongratz of Granton, daughter of Bill and Amie Pongratz and sponsored by Trierweiler Construction of Marshfield, and is a graduate of Granton High School and will be attending CVTC.

She works for Complete Filtration Resources in Marshfield. She’s also working to start her own online boutique. She’s also an FFA Alumni member, a part of the Zion Lutheran’s Women’s group.

She’s also a member of the Wisconsin Cheese Maker’s Association. She was a part of the Granton Fall Festival Royalty, was in FFA, Choir, Student Council, Growing Granton Strong, Health Career Connections, Spanish Club, PALS, and Athletic Club.

She also helps with Athletic Alumni events and volunteered with Marshfield Medical Center Oncology Department. She also has shown animals at the fair and entered many items for judging.
