School District of Thorp Announce the Self-Sustained Classroom Model for the Upcoming School Year
Tuesday, July 21st, 2026 -- 1:00 PM
At the School District of Thorp, they believe in community, equity, and doing whatever it takes to set our kids up for success.
That’s why the District is thrilled to announce a game-changing initiative for the upcoming school year: The Self-Sustained Classroom Model. Starting this fall, the district is supplying all essential school supplies for every student in grades 4K through 6th.
No more stressful, expensive back-to-school shopping trips. No more long lists. Just 100% preparation and equity from Day One. All Thorp families need to send from home is a backpack, a water bottle, a pair of gym shoes, and headphones.
The District is looking to partner with local businesses to make this a lasting, sustainable program for kids. They are looking for local business leaders and community members to team up with them. This isn't just a donation; it's a direct investment in the future of Thorp.
The District has established three simple Cardinal Partner Tiers to fit any business size:
- Red Partner (Under $500): Funds essential classroom items. Your business name will be proudly posted at the school entrances to showcase your support to every visitor.
- White Partner ($500–$999): Funds grade-level specialty supplies. Your business name will be proudly posted at the school entrances to showcase your support to every visitor
- Gold Partner ($1,000+): Anchors the program’s long-term sustainability. Your business name will be proudly posted at the school entrances to showcase your support to every visitor.
Whether you want to sponsor a specific grade level, completely fund the pencil inventory, or make a tax-deductible contribution, the District wants to work with you. For a physical partnership packet or to secure your sponsorship or to learn more about this program, please contact Elementary Principal Brandon Baldry directly at [email protected].
