Three Augusta FCCLA Members Attend Nationals in Washington DC

Three Augusta FCCLA Members attended Nationals in Washington DC.

They left on July 4 and returned on July 12. Olivia received a Silver for her project on Focus on children, Hadley received a Silver for her project in repurpose and redesign. Tessa received a Gold for her project focusing on Family Meals.

While at the conference they learned how to increase membership and networked with other student leaders to learn more about community service and gain ideas to help our students improve.

Mrs. King was also recognized as an Adviser Mentor. While in DC, they attended many Smithsonian museums, (Natural History, American history, portrait Gallery, zoo, and Air and Space) in addition to becoming Jr. Park rangers at the White House visitor center.

They visited 5 Nationals parks on the Journey and really learned a lot about the historical, and geographical areas they explored. (Indiana Dunes, Cuyahoga, flight 93 and great falls and Shenandoah.)

This trip was a success; membership in Augusta FCCLA is open to all 7-12 graders.
