Marshfield Police Department Provides Update on Death Investigation that Occurred on July 6th

The Marshfield Police Department is providing an update regarding the death investigation that occurred on July 6th, 2026 near the Wildwood Park and Zoo.

The victim in this case, Shaina Farb, 32, of Marshfield, has died as a result of injuries sustained during the incident. The second deceased individual has been identified as Tyler Johnson, 34, of Owen. Based on the investigation, this incident is being classified as a murder-suicide.

Investigators determined that Mr. Johnson caused the death of Ms. Farb before taking his own life. While this does remain an active investigation, investigators are not seeking any additional suspects, and there is no known ongoing threat to the public.

The Marshfield Police Department extends its condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones affected by this tragedy. We also recognize the impact domestic abuse has on victims, families, and the broader community.
