Marshfield Man Injured After Pursuit with Wood County Sheriff’s Department

On July 11, 2026, at approximately 9:04 pm, the Wood County Sheriff's Department responded to a driving complaint regarding a motorcycle in the area of County Road V and County Road H, Township of Lincoln.
Wood County Sheriff's Department Deputy located the described motorcycle and initiated a traffic stop on County Highway N. The operator of the motorcycle, identified as 57-year-old Kyle Wendt of Marshfield, failed to stop and attempted to elude the Deputy.
The motorcycle traveled eastbound on County Highway N and turned northbound on Lincoln Avenue. While traveling northbound on Lincoln Avenue, near Clark Drive, the motorcycle left the roadway and crashed into the east ditch. Wendt, the only occupant, was ejected from the motorcycle.
He was transported from the scene to Marshfield Medical Center for injuries received from the accident. He is currently in critical condition. Speed and alcohol are suspected to be contributing factors of the accident. This incident is currently under investigation.
The Wood County Sheriff's Department was assisted by Marshfield Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Town of Richfield Fire Department, Marshfield Ambulance, and Nieman's Towing and Recovery.
