Neillsville Heritage Days is happening this weekend.

The theme of Heritage Days this year is “A Balanced Legacy” as the City celebrates the retirement of Rex Roehl, the City’s dedicated Clerk and Treasurer for over 40 years. There will be a scavenger hunt all weekend long

Activities begin on Thursday with the Neillsville Chamber’s Beer & Bingo event from 5pm-7pm in the downtown tent followed by the Bear Creek Band from 7pm-11pm. The Little Miss Neillsville Coronation is at 5:30pm at the Neillsville High School Auditorium followed by the Miss Neillsville Coronation at 7pm.

On Friday, the Neillsville American Legion will be holding their fish fry from 4:30pm-7:30pm, the beer tent opens at 5pm and 107.5’s Rock Fest Kick Off Party featuring Saving Able, Lines of Loyalty, Bedlam, and VIA gets under way at 6pm. It’s a free show in Schuster Park.

There will also be a coin scramble at 6pm at Citizens State Bank of Loyal and the Loyal Mini Rodders at the Neillsville American Legion at 7pm. Saturday’s activities include the Kids Race from 8am-8:30am and The Grand 5K at 9am. Registration for both starts at 7:30am at Grit Nutrition.

The Golf Outing is from 9am-Noon, registration is from 8am-8:45am with a shotgun start at 9am. The Heritage Days Kayak Fun Run at Opelt Park begins at 10am. Registration is from 9:15am-9:45am at Opelt Park. Must be 16 and older with a signed waiver from a parent and kayaks and life jackets provided or you can bring your own.

There will also be volleyball at The Brickyard. The Rock Tailgater is happening from 10am-5pm in the lower pavilion from 10am-5pm. Wisconsin Pinery is happening from 10am-4pm, Family Fun Day in Schuster Park is from Noon-4pm, and the Chicken Dinner at the Neillsville Legion is from Noon-4pm.

The Neillsville Legion is also hosting the Bean Bag Tourney at 1pm. Registration begins at 12:30pm and it’s a $10 entry fee. Beer tent opens at 5pm and the band Uncommon Denominator performs from 6:30pm-10:30pm.

On Sunday, there will be breakfast at the Neillsville American Legion from 8am-12pm, tours of the Neillsville Public Library from 11am-1pm and again from 2pm-3pm, and the Neillsville Lions Club Chicken Dinner is from 11am-3pm.

The parade gets underway at 1pm and the Neillsville Fire Department water fights start after the parade. The downtown beer tent opens at 2pm with Homegrown Tomatoes and everything will wrap up at 4pm with the 50/50 drawings and the bike/prize giveaways.
