Black River Falls Fire Department Responds to Structure Fire

The Black River Falls Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Wednesday, June 24th.
At 5:24 p.m., Black River Falls Fire & EMS, Hixton Fire & Rescue were dispatched by Jackson County Dispatch to the 300 block of 13th Street, City of Black River Falls for a reported structure fire.
While units were responding, dispatch advised that the fire involved a large garden shed that was fully engulfed in flames. The shed was located approximately 20 feet from a residence and the heat from the fire had begun melting the home's siding.
BRF Fire crews arrived on scene and quickly brought the fire under control. Firefighters extinguished the shed fire and cooled the exterior of the residence to prevent further damage. The home was also checked for smoke inside and was cleared by crews. All other responding resources were canceled.
The garden shed is a total loss. The residence sustained damage to its siding and windows due to the heat exposure. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
All units cleared the scene at 6:26 pm. Assisting on scene were Black River Falls PD, Jackson County Wisconsin Sheriff's Office, and Jackson County Dispatch.
