Tomah High School has once again been recognized for excellence in Advanced Placement (AP) programming, earning a 2025 AP Pacesetter Award from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) and the Wisconsin Advanced Placement Advisory Council.
The school received Level 3 recognition for outstanding student participation and achievement in Advanced Placement coursework. The AP Pacesetter Award is unique to Wisconsin and honors schools that demonstrate strong student engagement in AP programming while maintaining high levels of academic performance. To qualify, schools must have at least 10% of students participating in AP exams, with 60% or more of those students earning a score of 3 or higher.
Tomah High School’s results reflect continued growth in both participation and achievement:
- 124 students participated in AP testing in 2025
- 247 AP exams were administered across 23 subject areas
- 88 students earned scores of 3 or higher, representing nearly 71% of AP students
- The school currently offers 14 teacher-led AP courses
- Students also have the opportunity to take AP exams in subjects not currently offered as courses, expanding access to college-level learning opportunities
Over the past five years, AP participation at Tomah High School has doubled, increasing from 62 students in 2021 to 124 students in 2025. The District emphasizes that this achievement reflects the dedication of teachers and staff who continue to support and challenge students through rigorous, college-level coursework.
Their commitment to fostering high expectations and academic excellence is evident in the growth and success of the AP program. Tomah High School congratulates its students, families, teachers, and staff on this achievement and remains committed to providing rigorous academic pathways that prepare students for success beyond high school.
