Osseo Man Arrested for Impaired Driving with Young Children in the Vehicle

(WEAU Staff, WEAU) An Osseo man is in custody after being suspected of driving impaired with three young children in the vehicle.

According to WEAU staff, the Wisconsin State Patrol Eau Claire Post said on June 13, 2026, just before 10:00 p.m., it received multiple complaints of an SUV being driven erratically on Interstate 94 westbound near mile marker 115 in Jackson County.

A trooper later found the vehicle on Highway 95 near Green Acres Road in the Village of Hixton, saw multiple moving violations, and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. During the stop, troopers reported the driver showed multiple signs of impairment and that open intoxicants were scattered throughout the front and back passenger areas.

The driver was identified as Jayson Olson, 40, of Osseo, according to the State Patrol. Troopers said Olson had three children with him, ages 7, 6 and 4, and that the children were not properly restrained inside the vehicle. A roadside impaired driving investigation was conducted, including standardized field sobriety tests, authorities said.

Olson was arrested on suspicion of operating a motor vehicle under the influence, first offense, with a child under 16 in the vehicle, and was taken to Black River Falls Memorial Hospital for a legal blood draw before being booked into the Jackson County Jail, the State Patrol said.
