Neillsville School Board Approves a Couple Bids for Building Work

Neillsville School Board began their interview on Monday with a Building and Ground Report
Director of Buildings and Grounds Mark Spencer reported on roof replacement bids; football field fencing bids; contractors who are currently working onsite; and summer cleaning progress. The Board approved a bid from Quality Roofing Inc. for elementary classrooms and gym roof in the amount of $323,443.
The Board also approved a bid from Landwer Fencing, LLC in the amount of $31,613 for football field fencing. The Board also approved the Achievement Gap Reduction report and approved the food service meal prices for 2026-2027:
- Breakfast - $2.25;
- Elementary lunch - $3.50;
- Middle school/high school lunch - $4.00;
- And milk $0.50.
The Board also approved the property insurance renewal from TriCor in the amount of $255,442, approved the 2026-2027 WASB membership, approved the 2026-2027 WIRSA membership, and approved the 2026-2027 WIAA membership.
The Board also approved setting a temporary Fund 10 budget for the 2026-2027 school year in the amount of $14,123,443, approved setting Citizen State Bank, Unity Bank, Simplicity Credit Union, and Co-op Credit Union as the official depositories for the 2026-2027 school year, and approved authorizing District Administrator Corey Peterson to make investments for the 2026-2027 school year.
The Board also approved the purchase of a 2027 Blue Bird Vision bus in the amount of $135,150 from Wisconsin Bus Sales, approved the printer services contract from Bauernfeind Business Technologies in the amount of $15,000 per year, approved an out of state field trip for FFA to attend the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana on October 21st -24th, and the purchase of Red Rover substitute management software at $5,990 per year.
In donations, the Board approved the donation from Aspirus Health in the amount of $2,300 for Safe Routes to School items and the scholarship donation from Jim and M.E. Sjolin in the amount of $32,000.
In employment matters, the Board approved the retirement of Jim Drescher from his bus mechanic position. They also approved the resignation of Maddie Wahl from her high school English teaching position, and Kyra Rakovec from her elementary teaching position.
The Board approved the hiring of Samantha Seibert for the ASL interpreter position, Morgan Bethea for the ASL interpreter position, Jana Hollibush for the teaching assistant position, Olyvia Pierce for the high school English teaching position, and Edward Grube for the football coaching position.
The Board also approved the Memorandum of Understanding for Amanda Kowalczyk, Riley Anderson, and Kimberly Swita. The Board also approved the 2026-2027 support staff addendum for Jessica Fitzl, Angela McIntyre, Morgan Spencer, Janice Shilts, and Randall Ystad. \
The Board also denied the 2026-2027 teacher contract revision for Sara Warren and Alex Bloch. The Board also approved the 2026-2027 extra and co-curricular contracts and the initial adoption of several policies.
The Board also heard the Administrators’ Reports. The board reviewed the report from Transportation Director Adam Krause on:
- Driver updates;
- Bus maintenance;
- Summer school routes;
- Student transportation forms for 2026-2027;
- School bus purchase;
- And the tracking of maintenance costs and transportation trips for monthly reports.
District Administrator Corey Peterson reported on:
- The end of the school year;
- Appreciation to all in administration for their efforts throughout the year;
- An update on the district’s strategic planning process;
- The CWETN Administrator Meeting minutes;
- USDA Rural Development Distance Learning grant application;
- Career and Technical Education incentive grant;
- And thank you cards.
