Marathon County Law Enforcement Welcoming Athletes Attending the Special Olympics USA Games

The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) champions acceptance and inclusion for athletes with intellectual disabilities, promoting equal treatment and celebrating their unique gifts, talents, and abilities.
Law enforcement members across Wisconsin continue their efforts to raise awareness and support for individuals with intellectual disabilities. On Friday, June 19th, 2026, at 9:45 AM, Officers and Special Olympics Wisconsin athletes will participate in the Law Enforcement Torch Run at Wausau West High School.
Law Enforcement Officers from the Merrill Police Department, Shawano Police Department, Shawano County Sheriff’s Department, Stockbridge-Munsee Police Department, Mountain Bay Metro Police Department, Marathon County Sheriff’s Department, and Wausau Police Department will be welcoming athletes who will be attending the Special Olympics USA Games.
The USA Games athletes, including local athlete Kallie Saal, will be making a stop in Wausau as they travel to the USA Games in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Officers will host a Torch Run beginning at 9:45 am on the north side of Wausau West High School and concluding in the east parking lot.
The community is invited to cheer on the officers and athletes as they send off the USA Games participants and wish them success in the upcoming competition.
