Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation Appoints New Administrative and Political Action Coordinator

(Blake Jackson, Wisconsin Ag Connection) The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation (WFBF) has appointed Kelly Herness as its new administrative and political action coordinator.

According to Blake Jackson with the Wisconsin Ag Connection, in her role, Herness will manage the operations, communications, and fundraising efforts of the Volunteers for Agriculture (VFA) Political Action Committee while also supporting the administrative functions of the organization's government relations department. Herness previously interned with WFBF, where she made a strong impression on staff members.

“As a past intern with Wisconsin Farm Bureau, we were impressed with Kelly’s professionalism, work ethic and enthusiasm for Wisconsin agriculture,” said WFBF Executive Director of Government Relations Jason Mugnaini. “We are excited to welcome her back to the organization in this full-time role.”

A recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Herness earned degrees in agricultural and applied economics and life sciences communication, along with a certificate in public policy. Herness experience also includes an internship with U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin’s office and recognition as a former Alice in Dairyland top candidate.

“I am thrilled to be back on staff full-time at Wisconsin Farm Bureau and look forward to using my passion for agriculture and policy communications to support the organization’s grassroots efforts,” Herness said. “It is an honor to join such a talented team of advocates for Wisconsin agriculture.” Herness officially begins her new position on June 4.
