Canadian authorities say a Wisconsin man has been sentenced to 10 days in jail after wounding a deer with the propeller of a power boat and then shooting the animal.Philip Borofka, 56, of Marshfield was also ordered to pay $11,000.
According to Canadian officials, a hunting party forced a deer from an island into the water last October. They say Borofka shot at the swimming deer, ran over it in the boat and shot it again.
Borofka, who calls the charges "absurd," hasn't paid the fine or served his time, so authorities are withholding his powerboat and firearm.
