MEDFORD DENTAL CLINIC GETS FEDERAL MONEY

A planned dental clinic for Medford is getting federal stimulus money.The clinic, designed to provide service to low-income residents, will receive a $381,000 earmark secured by Rep. Dave Obey (D-Wausau).
President Barack Obama signed the bill Wednesday.
Marshfield Clinic's Family Health Center opened its first rural dental center in 2002.
Officials plan to build the facility about three blocks from Memorial Health Center in Medford. It will employ five dentists and five dental hygienists and 20 others.
The Family Health Center plans to construct a similar dental facility in Neillsville. That?s slated to be open by mid-summer.
