FEDERAL STIMULUS $$ FOR CLARK CO.

Thursday, March 12th, 2009 -- 12:05 PM

A Clark County Town will get some Federal Stimulus money.

Governor Doyle released details of 47 local transportation projects certified by the DOT to receive federal dollars.

The Town of Sherwood will get help to redo the Ballard Road bridge over Hay Creek. The project is slated to cost around $190,000.

Clark County Highway Commissioner Randy Anderson said the project would have been done this year, even without the stimulus money.

But, both the county and the Town of Sherwood would have had to chip in 20% of the design and construction costs without the stimulus money. Now, the contractors will be paid directly through the state.

Other projects to make the list include the Mill Creek bridge in the Town of Auburndale in Wood County, CTH A from 8th Street to CTH F in the Jackson County Town of Adams, and the Allman Street Black River Bridge and approaches in the City of Medford.
