Area Memorial Day Activites

Several area veterans organizations will hold Memorial Day observances on Monday.

In Neillsville:

Neillsville American Legion Post 73 will begin the day with a Wreath Toss Ceremony at the Grand Avenue Bridge over the Black River at 10:30 AM.

The City Cemetery Service will be at 11:30 AM.

There will be a community cook out at the Neillsville American Legion beginning at noon.

16th Annual Honor Ride will depart American Legion at 2:15 PM and proceed to the Highground Veterans Memorial Park for a 3 PM observance there which will feature the ringing of the Liberty Bell with guest speaker Melissa Doud.

In Marshfield:

Parade Hosted by American Legion Post 54 at 9:30 AM on Blodgett Street west of Central and proceed to the NEW Field of Honor for a program there. A program at the Brooklawn Cemetery will follow.

In the Colby/Abbotsford/Dorchester area

VFW Post 227 will host their annual ceremony at the Abbotsford Public Cemetery at 10 am.

American Legion Post 517 will travel to four locations for Memorial Day Services.

Christian Lutheran Cemetery at 10:00 AM

Norwegian Evangelical Cemetery at 10:30 am

North Dorchester Cemetery at 10:45 am

South Dorchester Cemetery at 11:00 am.
