The Highground Veterans Memorial Holds Volunteer Appreciation Picnic

On Saturday, May 9, The Highground welcomed approximately 50 volunteers for an afternoon of food, fun and fellowship during its annual Volunteer Appreciation Picnic.

While chilly weather moved the event indoors to the Welcome Center theater room, attendees still enjoyed a warm and meaningful gathering centered around gratitude for the individuals who support The Highground’s mission year-round.

Staff members thanked volunteers including porch greeters for their continued dedication and service, recognizing that their time and commitment are essential to the organization’s ability to serve veterans, families and visitors.
