(Blake Jackson, Wisconsin Ag Connection) Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection has named Anastasia Poull of Port Washington as Wisconsin’s 79th Alice in Dairyland, a role focused on promoting the state’s agricultural industry through education, marketing, and public outreach.
According to Blake Jackson with the Wisconsin Ag Connection, Poull will serve as a full-time communications professional for DATCP during her one-year term, helping connect consumers with Wisconsin agriculture.
Poull brings a strong academic and agricultural background to the position. During her time at South Dakota State University, she completed bachelor’s degrees in animal science, agricultural leadership, and agricultural science, while also earning minors in agricultural business and communication studies.
Poull involvement outside the classroom included participating on the university’s 2020 Wool Judging Team and serving as an ambassador for the College of Agriculture. Those experiences helped strengthen her interest in agricultural communication and led her to pursue a Master of Arts degree in communication and media studies.
Through Poull studies and professional experiences, Poull recognized a growing disconnect between agricultural producers and consumers and hopes to help close that gap during her term.
“The role of Alice in Dairyland is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to serve as an ambassador for Wisconsin's abundant and diverse agriculture industry," said Poull. “I am looking forward to connecting with a wide variety of consumers to share more about this dynamic industry and the hardworking individuals who make it possible."
Poull was selected during the 79th Alice in Dairyland Finals hosted by Marathon County and will officially begin her term on July 6, 2026.
