(Mike Leischner, WSAU) A Wausau man accused of sharing child pornography through a messenger app was sentenced in Marathon County Court.
According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, investigators say they received a tip about suspicious activity linked to Jeremy Campbell’s Snapchat account from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
That included sharing images that had been flagged as child pornography. Further investigation showed suspicious activity between Campbell’s account and that of a pre-teen. Police say he admitted to sending and receiving explicit photos on the app.
During his court appearance on Friday, Campbell was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, possession of child pornography. Two other charges were dismissed and read in. He was sentenced to three years in state prison and four years of extended supervision.
