Monday, May 18th, 2026 -- 9:00 AM
The Marathon County Sheriff’s Department is honored to recognize several members of their team who graduated from the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Academy and the Wisconsin Jail Academy at Northcentral Technical College.
Corrections Officer Audrey Daryl, Corrections Officer Logan Werner and Corrections Officer Ariyl Laird successfully completed the 200 hour Jail Academy. Deputy Michael Peterson graduated from the Law Enforcement Academy.
In addition to earning his certification, Michael also received top awards for his physical fitness as well as the Jamison Kampmeyer Backup Award, an award voted on by the class recognizing the person the class would most want backing them up in a difficult situation.
This award is special to the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office because it is named after Jamison Kampmeyer, a member of their team who was killed in the line of duty while serving as a firefighter for the Colby Fire Department in 2012.
