Stanley Police Department Arrests Juvenile for Having Weapons on School Property

Tuesday, May 12th, 2026 -- 4:00 PM

On Thursday, May 7, 2026, at approximately 8:41 am, the Stanley Police Department was contacted by administration at the Stanley-Boyd Schools and notified they had received information from students that a weapon may have been present in another student’s vehicle that was parked in the school parking lot.

In coordination with school personnel, the vehicle was subsequently searched, and multiple weapons and rounds of ammunition were located inside of the student’s vehicle. After further investigation, no information was obtained to indicate any threat being made to any student, staff, or member of the public regarding this incident.

The juvenile involved in this matter will be referred to Chippewa County Juvenile Court Intake for charges. The Department would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to the students that presented this concerning information to school staff.

Their actions allowed for this matter to be swiftly investigated and for immediate action to be taken to rectify the situation within a very short amount of time. No additional information will be released regarding this matter at this time.
