City of Neillsville to Conduct Hydrant Flushing May 18th-22nd & May 26th-29th

The City of Neillsville will be conducting the annual flushing program to clear out minerals that have accumulated in the city’s water mains.

The flushing is accomplished by opening fire hydrants. This flushing is necessary to improve water quality and maintain the integrity of the distribution system, which is mandated by the Wisconsin DNR.

Flushing will be conducted:  7:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

• Monday, May 18 through Friday, May 22, 2026
• Tuesday, May 26, through Friday, May 29, 2026

If the water appears discolored, do not be alarmed. After waiting, run your cold water for about 5 minutes to verify the water has cleared. If water does not clear, or if you have any questions, please call the Water Department at 743-3991.
