Tuesday, May 5th, 2026 -- 2:00 PM
One individual arrested for stealing a vehicle and fleeing officers was sentenced in Jackson County Court on Monday.
On September 30, 2025, at about 7:22 a.m., the Jackson County Communications Center received information from the Wisconsin State Patrol of two stolen vehicles that were east bound on I-94 entering Jackson County.
The two vehicles were reported stolen from a rental car company in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The responding Deputies located the two vehicles traveling east on I-94 and attempted to stop one of the vehicles.
The two vehicles fled at a high rate of speed and a vehicle pursuit was initiated. One of the vehicles eventually exited at the east-bound area rest stop. The driver abandoned the undamaged vehicle and fled into the woods.
The vehicle was recovered but the driver was not located. The fleeing vehicle continued east bound into Monroe County. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deployed tire deflation devices near Tomah which were effective.
The vehicle came to a controlled stop and the two occupants were taken into custody without further incident. The driver was identified as Makenzie Eisert of Fairbault, Minnesota. The passenger was identified as Anjel Sarr of Saint Paul, Minnesota.
During her court appearance on Monday, Eisert was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, vehicle operator fleeing/eluding an officer. Another charge was dismissed and read in. She was given a withheld sentence and placed on probation for 3 years.
