Marathon County Sheriff’s Department Recognizes Corrections Officer of the Year

The Marathon County Sheriff’s Department is proud to recognize Corrections Officer Yeechoua Vang, who has been selected by his peers as the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Officer of the Year for 2026.

CO Vang approaches each day with a positive attitude and a readiness to tackle any assignment. He is determined to finish what he starts and consistently demonstrates the ability to adapt and overcome in our ever‑changing environment.

As an informal leader, CO Vang sets the standard for professionalism, teamwork, and respect. In the absence of a Corporal, he willingly steps up to ensure shift duties are completed and operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Beyond his daily responsibilities, CO Vang invests in the well‑being of his team. He arranges and participates in gatherings outside the workplace, helping officers build stronger connections.

He supports his colleagues by attending new officer graduations on his own time and serving as a dedicated member of the Peer Support Team.
