Marshfield Area United Way is bringing a new event to Marshfield’s Dairy Fest this year.
The Dairy Fest Dash will be held on Saturday, May 30th. I spoke with Ashley Winch, Executive Director of the Marshfield Area United Way, and she discussed the event in more detail.

Ashley: "Yes, this is a new event meant to be a family friendly event that kind of just adds to all the wonderful activities that take place on that weekend as part of the Dairy Fest activities."
"So, on, actually, Friday, May 29 we are hosting a Kids Fun Run for kids, ages 2 to 10 and that will be held at Columbia Park where they're having other children activities happening that evening."
"And everybody, every child that participates, is going to get a book. So, we have a variety of books that they'll be able to select from. No pre-registration is required for that. We plan to have the events start happening at 5pm at Columbia Park and we plan to have the kids fun run at 5:30pm that night."
"And then the next morning, we're having a two or five mile walk/run participants can register for. So, starting from what many Marshfield people know as the old armory, the Oak Avenue Community Center at 201 South Oak and a couple different routes in the neighborhoods around there."
Riley: "And could you let us know what the cost for that is?"
Ashley: "Yes, participation in that is also $30"
Riley: "And if they do register, they get the event t-shirt, is that correct?"
Ashley: "Correct? So, we will be, we'll have t-shirts for everybody registered in the two or the five mile."
Riley: "And now, if people want to get registered for that or just learn more about the event. Where's a good place for them to go to do that?"
Ashley: "Yes, two places that they can go is they can find a link to register on our website at marshfieldareaunitedway.org and then our registration platform we're using for the race is runsignup.com."
Riley: "Anything else about the Dairy Fest Dash?"
Ashley: "Just going to mention that we plan on starting early on that Saturday morning, so we should be all done and wrapped up prior to the Dairy Fest Parade, which I know a lot of our community members look forward to either participating in or enjoying as a spectator. And so we plan to have everything all buttoned up by the time that would get off and running."
