UW-Madison Extension Hosting Free Cover Crop and Forage Field on May 7th at Marshfield Ag Research Station

Friday, April 24th, 2026 -- 8:01 AM

(Blake Jackson, Wisconsin Ag Connection) UW-Madison Extension will host a free cover crop and forage field day on May 7 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Marshfield Agricultural Research Station.

According to Blake Jackson with the Wisconsin Ag Connection, the event is open to farmers, agronomists, crop advisers, and conservation professionals interested in improving crop management practices in northern Wisconsin.

Participants will gain practical insights into implementing cover crops under regional conditions, as well as strategies for managing forage systems. The program will also address how winter weather impacted alfalfa stands and explore renovation options for fields that experienced damage.

Attendees can expect a hands-on learning experience, along with opportunities to engage with Extension experts and fellow producers. Light refreshments will be provided during the session.

The event will take place at 208356 Drake Avenue North in Stratford, Wisconsin, and registration is required to attend. Those interested can contact Dan Marzu at [email protected] for more details or to reserve a spot.
