Wood County Sheriff's Department Arrests a Man for Fleeing an Officer and Possession

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026 -- 2:00 PM

On April 21, 2026 around 2:30 p.m. a motorcycle was observed exceeding the speed limit on Jackson Road in the Township of Hansen, Wood County, Wisconsin.

A traffic stop was attempted and the motorcycle accelerated. The operator attempted negotiating multiple curves in the roadway and he lost control of the motorcycle. The motorcycle overturned and came to rest on Spruce Road at Tamarack Road, Township of Hansen. The operator suffered very minor injuries. A large quantity of white powdery substance was located and tested positive for Cocaine and weighed 111.7 grams.

Wyatt Landphier (Age 23) was identified as the operator and arrested. He will be charged with possession of Cocaine and Felony - Fleeing an Officer. Wood County Sheriff's Deputies were assisted by Wisconsin Rapids Police Department and Wood County Central Dispatch Center.
