City of Marshfield’s Outdoor Warning Sirens Have Been Fixed
Monday, April 20th, 2026 -- 11:00 AM

The Wood County Communication Center has confirmed that the issue affecting radio signaling to the Marshfield storm sirens has been corrected.
The sirens were briefly tested and they confirmed they are operating properly in multiple locations throughout the city.
Even with this fix, we strongly encourage everyone to have a second way to receive storm warnings, such as:
- A NOAA Weather Radio
- Wood County Everbridge system
- City of Marshfield Mobile App
- City of Marshfield Website Alerts
- Local news outlets and weather apps
- Other trusted media outlets that provide real-time severe weather alerts for your location
Severe Weather Safety Reminder
If severe weather is approaching, please seek shelter immediately.
- In a basement, if available, or
- In an enclosed interior room without windows, if a basement is not available
Report Siren Problems
If you notice any issues with a City storm siren, such as:
- It does not sound
- It is not rotating. It appears to have storm damage
Please contact the Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department or Wood County Dispatch so the issue can be addressed as quickly as possible.
