City of Marshfield and Wood County Holding Drug Take Back Event this Saturday

The City of Marshfield is reminding residents that Drug Take Back Day will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, providing a safe, convenient, and confidential way to dispose of unused or expired medications.
Improper disposal of medications can pose risks to public health, safety, and the environment. This event helps ensure medications are handled responsibly.
Drop-off location and time include:
- Marshfield City Hall – 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. - Hosted by Marshfield Police Department
Residents are encouraged to:
- Remove or black out personal information on prescription labels
- Bring medications in their original containers
- Place pills in a sealed bag or container if preferred
This event is organized in partnership with Healthy People Wood County, IMPACT, and the Marshfield Area Coalition for Youth (MACY). Year-round disposal options are also available at permanent drop box locations throughout Wisconsin. The City encourages all residents to take advantage of this opportunity to safely dispose of medications and help protect the community.
There are other events being held around Wood County including:
- The Pittsville Police Department from 9am-Noon, hosted by the Department;
- The Wisconsin Rapids Pick n’ Save from 10am-2pm, hosted by the Grand Rapids Police Department, Wisconsin Rapids Police Department, and the Wood County Sheriff’s Department;
- And the Port Edwards Fire Department from 11am-1pm, hosted by the Port Edwards Police Department.
There is also an event being held in the Town of Rome in Adams County from 10am-2pm, hosted by the Rome Police Department.
