BOARD WON'T SELL LAND NEAR OWEN

It appears plans for an agribusiness park near Owen are back on hold after the Clark County Board shot down a pair of resolutions Tuesday night.The Economic Development Committee support the idea; the Clark County Healthcare Center sub-committee have expressed reservations.
The two groups offered competing resolutions.
The CCHC committee resolution would have sold 61 acres to the City of Owen. It failed on a voice vote.
The Economic Development Committee resolution would have sold 171 acres to the City of Owen for about $4,000 an acre.
It was amended down to 161 acres. It failed on a vote of 9 to 16.
NEW BOARD MEMBERS SEATED
Brian Kunze of Neillsville was appointed to fill out the remainder of Doug Opelt?s term on the board. He will serve on the Public Property and Ag and Extension Committees.
JACKSON/CLARK COUNTY HIGHWAY COMMISSIONER?
Board Chairman Wayne Hendrickson told supervisors Clark County has been approached by Jackson County. Their Highway Commissioner is retiring, and Jackson County is interested in sharing the position and splitting the costs. Discussions are still underway.
And the first reading of a new sub-division ordinance passed on a voice vote.
