"When we were first deciding on a project for our Leadership Marshfield group, we all agreed that we wanted to focus on something that would directly support our community. We spoke with the Soup or Socks Food Pantry and they said that they were having significant increase in people relying on their pantry in recent months, just due to rising costs of everything."

"And at the same time, we realized that Marshfield does not have any official citywide garage sale, so we decided to kind of pair the two up together and do a Marshfield Community Garage Sale with a food drive to have a fun garage sale weekend, but also to help support local families."

"The thought process behind having it in May is to help kind of provide a little bit of a boost, because school lets out at the end of the month and we are hoping that by having the food drive in May, we can help support those food pantries during the summer months to help with food insecurity over the summer."

"In order to sign up, they need to come down to MACCI and register. And it is a $10 fee payable by cash or check to MACCI. And then after, after we close registration, we will publish a map that will go on our Facebook page. MACCI will publish it as well. We'll also have it on paper and we will have plotted all of the houses that have signed up, in addition to our tote locations."

"In order to donate, we have a couple locations, a couple local businesses that have agreed to be potential tote locations, as well as when you sign up for the garage sale, you have the option to be a tote location, and then once we get everybody signed up, we'll kind of divvy up the totes so they're evenly spaced throughout the city. In these totes, we're hoping to collect non perishable food goods as well as any unused cleaning products. And this will all go to super socks."

"We do have a Facebook page, if anybody wanted to check that out. It's just called Marshfield Community Garage Sale. I will be posting updates to the garage sale as well as that's where we will be posting our map and any other information that comes along."

"If anyone has any questions, they can certainly message our Facebook page, and they can also send us an email, and our email address is on our Facebook page."
