Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library Holding In-Person Author Event This Saturday, April 11th

Tuesday, April 7th, 2026 -- 2:01 PM

The Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library will be holding an in-person author event this Saturday, April 11th from 1pm-3pm.

I spoke with Steve Apfel, the Marketing Coordinator with the library, and he discussed the event in more detail.

Listen to the interview with Steve here!

Once again, the event is free and is being held this Saturday, April 11th from 1pm-3pm. If you have any questions, you can contact the library via their website (https://marshfieldlibrary.org/) or call 715-387-8494.

Steve: "It's an in person author event and the author's name is Dean Robbins and he's put out several children's nonfiction books. This is his first nonfiction collection for adults. It's called 'Wisconsin Idols: 100 Heroes Who Changed the State, the World, and Me.'"

"And it's a collection of essays that he's done for Wisconsin Public Radio, just about figures either from Wisconsin or who have a story that connects them to Wisconsin and he's collected 100 of them into this book that he's going to come talk about."

Riley: "When is this happening? And what time?"

Steve: "That is this Saturday, so April 11th and it is at 1pm."

Riley: "Can you give us a little hint as to what he may talk about?

Steve: "Looks like he's done this presentation at several libraries throughout the state, but we're still pretty fortunate to have him and he's just going to go through a few of his few of the stories from the book include stories about everyone, from Jackie Robinson, Oprah Winfrey, Harrison Ford, Elvis, Orson Welles, it's a pretty wide ranging group, but he did get a book jacket blurb from Kareem Abdul Jabbar, who called it insightful and entertaining, because he is also featured in the book."

Riley: "And I'm sure that didn't skew his opinion at all."

Steve: "Oh, I'm sure."

Riley: "And, of course, this event is free, right?"

Steve: "Absolutely!"

Riley: "Anything else?"

Steve: "This will be the first of a few in person author events we have coming up. Normally, we have our virtual author events every month, which are still happening, but it's cool to be able to have someone in person you can ask your questions too. So, it'll be a whole lot of fun."
