“Paw for Brittany” Coming May 9th
Friday, April 3rd, 2026 -- 11:01 AM

Eighteen years ago, the Marshfield community suffered the loss of Brittany Zimmermann, a cherished daughter, loyal friend, and a compassionate advocate for those without a voice.
In honor of her enduring legacy, the Marshfield Area Pet Shelter (MAPS) invites the community to gather for the annual “Paws For Brittany” event on Saturday, May 9, 2026. “Paws For Brittany” is more than a walk/run; it is a heartfelt tribute to a remarkable individual whose passion for animals continues to inspire.
This year’s event returns to the scenic Wildwood Park, providing a beautiful backdrop for participants to celebrate Brittany’s life while supporting the cause she held most dear. Online registration is now officially open at www.marshfieldpetshelter.org/pawsforbrittany.
- Early Bird Special: Participants who register before April 23, 2026, will receive the exclusive 2026 event t-shirt.
- Standard Registration: After April 23, the registration fee will be $40.
- Event Schedule: Check-in and registration begin at 8:00 AM, with the walk/run starting promptly at 9:00 AM.
Adding to this year’s festivities, Lifeline Event Services will host a photo booth from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, allowing participants to capture memories of the day. All proceeds from the event directly benefit the rescued animals at the Marshfield Area Pet Shelter. For those unable to attend in person but who still wish to contribute, donations can be made in Brittany’s memory through the event website.
“Brittany’s compassion remains a driving force for our organization,” says Karen Rau, Executive Director of MAPS. “We encourage community members of all ages and abilities to join us for a day of remembrance, community spirit, and support for local animals in need.”
Marshfield Area Pet Shelter (MAPS) is a donation-dependent, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue, care, and adoption of homeless animals. Providing sanctuary to more than 700 animals annually, MAPS is committed to ensuring a safe and loving environment for every animal in its care.
