Clark County Board of Supervisors Approves Salary Increases for Three County Positions Beginning in 2027

The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved commencement of In Rem Foreclosure of 2022 tax delinquent properties.

The Board also approved to lease 154.9 acres of land around Sportsmen Lake for ag purposes. The lease will come to $28,733.95 in revenue per year for the County. The Board also approved an increase in salary over the next four years for the Clark County Sheriff, Clerk of Courts, and Coroner.

The Sheriff’s current salary is $91,821.50 and will increase to $103.695 for 2027, $108,879 for 2028, $113,234 for 2029, $116,631 for 2030. The Clerk of Courts current salary is $76,048.48 and will increase to $85,882 in 2027, $90,176 for 2028, $93,783 for 2029, and $96,596 for 2030.

The Coroner currently receives $7,323.19 and will increase to $8,500 in 2027, $8,925 in 2028, $9,282 in 2029, and $9,560 in 2030. The Coroner will also receive a per diem of $140 per call, $125 per autopsy, $50 per transport, and $50 per cremation.

The Board also approved a resolution to send to the Governor and State Legislature in support of sustainable funding for road construction to keep pace with inflation and rising construction costs.

The Board also approved the consolidation of the Clark County Community Services Department and Clark County Department of Social Services into the Clark County Human Services Department. The estimated cost is expected to be between $14,165.27 and $187,325.25.

The Board also approved a resolution to send to the Governor and State Legislature supporting the state joining the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center. This service provides 24/7 threat monitoring and incident response to state, local, tribal, and territorial government organizations supporting our nation's critical infrastructure including public hospitals, public utilities, K-12 schools, and law enforcement.

The Board approved the grant application for 2026-27 ATV/UTV Trail maintenance. The grant provides $600 per mile for ATV summer trails, $100 per mile for ATV winter trails, $400 per mile for UTV trials, and $249 per mile for troute trails. Clark County has 241.2 available miles of trail and the grant is expected to bring in $93,660 for trail maintenance.

The Board also approved the 2026-27 grant application for snowmobile maintenance, which provided $300 per mile of trail. Clark County has 376.20 miles of eligible trails and the County could receive $112,860 for trail maintenance.

Finally, the Board approved amendments to ordinances regarding the roles and structures of county governing bodies, approved an appointment to the County Highway Committee, and recognized out-going board members.

The Board is also considering purchasing the old BMO Bank Building in Loyal for use of additional office spaces.
