Thursday, March 26th, 2026 -- 10:01 AM

(WEAU Staff, WEAU) A Cadott woman charged with business theft in Chippewa County entered a plea in Chippewa County Court on Wednesday.

According to WEAU staff, the criminal complaint stated that Nicole Ruhe was the treasurer for multiple organizations including the Boys Scouts of America Troop 65, the Cadott Basketball Association, and the Cadott Community Association.

Per the criminal complaint, in the time frame of 2021-2024, it is suspected Ruhe stole money from two of the three organizations. In interviews, Ruhe admitted taking and using money from two of the three organizations and not returning it.

According to the criminal complaint, a Boy Scouts of America account was believed to be missing $4,095.03. An account for the Cadott Basketball Association was believed to be missing around $5,159.

During her court appearance on Wednesday, she was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, theft of a business setting. Two other charges were dismissed and read in. She’s scheduled for sentencing on May 18th.
