Humbird Woman Sentenced for Operating Under the Influence With a Child in the Vehicle

A Humbird woman has been sentenced for Operating Under the Influence with a child in the vehicle.
According to a release from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, on August 31st of last year, the sheriff’s department received a report of a child screaming inside a parked vehicle in the Village of Merrillan.
The parent was reportedly in a nearby bar, but soon left prior to the arrival of the deputy. The responding deputy located the vehicle traveling on US Highway 12 and observed erratic driving.
The deputy conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Terra Sandoval. It was confirmed that children were passengers in the vehicle. Sandoval admitted to drinking and participated in field sobriety testing.
Sandoval was arrested and booked in the Jackson County Jail. During her court appearance on Monday, she was found guilty of operating while under the influence with a child less than 16 in the vehicle.
Another charge was dismissed and read in. She was sentenced to 10 days in jail, her license revoked for 12 months, and over $1,600 in court costs and fines.
