STIMULUS BILL MOVES THROUGH HOUSE

The U.S. House has approved a compromise version of the economic stimulus bill, and one Wisconsin Congressman says it will provide the help that's needed. The House on Friday approved the $789-billion package. Congressman Ron Kind supported the measure."It strikes the right balance between much needed tax relief for working families and small business, while making crucial investments that will, in the short term, create jobs," Kind says.
Kind says the package will push out funding quickly to states, although it's hard to tell how soon the impact will be felt.
"I don't think you can measure the success of this bill in weeks or months. It took a while to get ourselves into this situation," he says.
But, Republicans, like Janesville?s Paul Ryan, are critical of the bill.
