Tomah School Board Selects Three Finalists for Superintendent Position

The Tomah Area Board of Education has selected three finalists for the district’s superintendent position. 

The candidates are James Feil, Anjuli Mucklin, and Dr. Francis Redmon. The three finalists will participate in a Staff and Community Forum on Monday, March 23, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the High School Auditorium.

Meet the Candidates:

Francis Redmon is currently completing his second year as superintendent of the Keystone Central School District in Mill Hall, Pennsylvania. Frank’s previous leadership experiences include serving as superintendent of the Quilcene School District in Quilcene, Washington, director of the Ashgabat International School in Turkmenistan, and high school principal at Tulalip Heritage High School and the Arts and Technology High School in Marysville, Washington.

Dr. Redmon also worked for two years as a graduate assistant researcher at the University of Wisconsin in Madison in the Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis Department.

Frank earned his Bachelor of Science degree in physics from St. Norbert College, a Masters degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Washington in Seattle, and a Masters degree and Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Anjuli (Jewel) Mucklin became the superintendent of the Wautoma Area School District after serving as the district’s elementary school principal for four years.

Prior to joining Wautoma schools, Ms. Mucklin was the middle/high school principal in the School District of Crandon, the elementary/middle school charter school principal and gifted/talented program coordinator for the Waupun Area School District, a charter school facilitator for the Kimberly Area School District, and a teacher in the Princeton Public Schools.

Jewel completed a Bachelor of Arts and post-baccalaureate program at Ripon College with majors in English, criminal justice, and education.  She earned a Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University and her superintendent certification from Viterbo University. Jewel is currently completing the requirements for a doctoral degree in education from Edgewood College.

James Feil has three decades of experience in school leadership. His first superintendent positions were in the Eastern Upper Peninsula Intermediate School District and the Traverse City Area Public Schools in Michigan.

In Wisconsin, Mr. Feil has served as superintendent in the Montello School District, the Urban Day Charter School, and the Manitowoc Public School District. Most recently, James served as the interim superintendent for the Bristol School District.

Jim earned his undergraduate and MBA degrees from Central Michigan University and his Ed.S from the University of Michigan-Flint where he is currently a doctoral candidate.

Candidate Forum:

The three finalists will participate in a Staff and Community Forum on Monday, March 23, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the High School Auditorium.  Each candidate will be given 40 minutes to introduce themselves and respond to questions.

Final interviews will be conducted on March 23, 2026.  The new superintendent will begin duties on July 1, 2026.
