Friday, February 27th, 2026 -- 2:00 PM
This Week is National FFA Week.
Our own Dale Erickson had the opportunity to speak with FFA students and advisors from our area school districts.
National FFA Week runs through February 28th.

Dale: "As National FFA week wraps up, this past week, I had an opportunity to travel around the area to various schools and I asked several members of the FFA how the FFA has helped them grow as a person."
Mallory: "Hi, I'm Mallory Jacobi. I'm from the Loyal FFA chapter. I've been a part of it since seventh grade. It's helped me grow by teaching me many different responsibilities and time management skills. I'm currently serving as this year's treasurer for our chapter, which is one of the biggest things that has helped me learn those different skills. I've also participated in the floriculture team the past couple of years, which, overall, helped me grow with career skills that I can take with me in the future."
Abigail: "Hi, I'm Abigail green from the Granton FFA chapter. We are celebrating National FFA week. Being part of the FFA has brought me so many opportunities, like meeting new people and gaining new experiences. FFA has not only made me more involved in school activities, but it has got me out of my comfort zone."
"In FFA, I'm doing things like speaking contests that I never thought I could do. In some ways, I have watched myself change from being a person that would only do things my friends did to becoming a leader. I am so grateful for all the amazing experiences I have gotten to participate in through FFA."
Carson: "Hi, I'm Carson Schmitz from the Neillsville FFA. When I was a freshman, I was a girl who would stare at the ground as she walked by someone to avoid any kind of conversation or eye contact. One day, an FFA officer asked me to be on the Parliamentary Procedure team. I was hesitant, but I ended up going for it."
"Since then, I've been on the parley pro team and have gone to sectionals every year. Being on this team really opened my eyes to other opportunities that FFA has to offer. I have been on the officer team since I was a sophomore, and am currently serving as the Neillsville FFA president."
"I can confidently say that because of FFA, I'm no longer that girl who stares at the floor anymore to avoid conversations. Now I can comfortably talk in front of large groups and people that I don't know, to help organize activities. It's helped me become more confident in myself and my ability to be a leader."
"I would encourage anyone who is thinking about FFA to join you can be involved in it as much or as little as you want, and your experience is really what you make it, no matter how you choose to be involved, it will help you grow as an individual as well."
Dale: "All of the area FFA chapters do events throughout the year that are open to the community, And we invite everyone to go out and support their efforts as they support and promote agriculture in Wisconsin and grow our next generation of leaders."
