Wausau Fire Department Holds 5th Annual Firefighters Ball

The 5th Annual Wausau Firefighters Ball was a powerful celebration of service, sacrifice, tradition, and family and it truly would not have been possible without the incredible support of their sponsors.

The Department starts with a huge thank you to their Presenting Sponsor, NorthStar Restoration  Services. Their continued generosity, community support, and partnership with the Wausau Fire Department mean more than they can put into words.

Because of them, the Department was able to keep this tradition alive and make the night as special as it was. They thank them for standing behind the entire fire family.

From the moment the Honor Guard opened the evening, to the inspiring words from the keynote speaker, IAFF 5th District Vice President Mahlon Mitchell, and the incredible recognition of their members, retirees, and fire families, this night honored the legacy of the Wausau Fire Department.

This year’s theme, “The Walls Still Speak,” reminded everyone that the stations hold generations of stories, ones in the night, long shifts, tough calls, laughter around the kitchen table, and the quiet moments that shape who they are.

Seeing that legacy come full circle as they formally recognized their retired members for the first time made the evening especially meaningful. They were proud to celebrate their firefighters’ years of service, honor outstanding dedication with the Core Value Award, recognize the retirees, and, most importantly, thank the spouses and significant others who stand beside them through every call, every shift, and every sacrifice.
