Dale: "Today, we are talking with the Granton FFA Chapter and here to tell me about the activities of the Granton FFA is Taylor Luchterhand."

Taylor: "This past week, our high school and middle school has been participating in FFA Week activities. We chose to participate FFA week a week early because of the shortened school week. We have various activities during our lunch hours such as egg drop, farmer relay race, pie eating contests, and round lightning."

"We've had dress up days for each day this past week. Monday, being farmers day off, so wear your pajamas. Tuesday, Carhartt and crocs. Wednesday, FFA spirit. Thursday, John Deere versus Case."

"With this snow day last Friday, we dropped our FFA Week activities up to Monday with America Day and ice cream sunday during lunch. As a part of our FFA week, we held a can drive that started, the ninth, ending, the 20th. All cans will be donated to organization of our chapter choosing the grant."

Dale: "And FFA is busy all year round, not just during FFA Week, and a lot of the activities that the FFA does are open to the public. Can you tell us a little bit about what the FFA does and involves the Granton community as well?"

Taylor: "For Christmas Angel Project, we pack meals for families in need and wrap gifts for kids in need as well and we deliver all the meals and gifts to the families. We also do Adopt-a-Highway, which groups of kids go out and pick up all the trash along the highway and make sure that our environment is cleaner."

"And we also do Haunted Forest, which the FFA group puts together in our school forest. We have a theme each year and then we have the FFA kids volunteer each night for four nights to put on this haunted forest for the community members to come and enjoy."

"For our Fall Festival activities we take and do like a penny scramble, frog jump, and tractor pull for the little kids to participate in and win prizes for completing the activities as well."

"For our annual dairy breakfast, we have meals that include pancakes, sausage, eggs, milk, cheese curds and like apple sauce that are available and we have petting zoos and fun activities for the little kids to do as well."

"Our chapter puts on a harvest bag for our farmers, where we go out and buy goodies and snacks for our farmers and then put them together in bags with thank you notes, thanking them for all their hard work that they do and go around and deliver to our farmers in the community."
