City of Marshfield's Parks and Recreation Department Hosting American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification

The City of Marshfield Parks & Recreation Department will host an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification course March 18–20 at Marshfield High School.
The three-day course will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day on March 18, March 19, and March 20, 2026. Participants must be at least 15 years old. The online portion of the course must be completed prior to the start of the first in-person class. Attendance at all in-person sessions is required.
Participants must complete the following skills:
Swim-Tread-Swim (no time limit):
- 150-yard swim
- 2 minutes of treading water without using hands
- 50-yard swim
Timed Brick Dive (1 minute, 40 seconds):
- Swim 20 yards to approximately 8-foot-deep water
- Retrieve a 10-pound brick from the bottom
- Return on back with both hands holding the brick
- Exit the water without using a ladder
