Two Columbus Catholic Students Place in the Knight of Columbus Essay Contest

Two Columbus Catholic High School students placed in the Knights of Columbus Essay Contest.

Students were asked to write an essay on the topic: “Out of the 267 popes that have led the Catholic Church, who are your three favorite popes and why?” Essays were judged based on content, grammar, and style.

We are proud to share that Livvie Laessig earned 1st place, while Tabitha VanWyhe earned 2nd place. Livvie’s first-place essay has been submitted to the Diocese of La Crosse / State of Wisconsin Knights of Columbus for further judging.

If selected, her essay will advance to the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council in New Haven, Connecticut, for the international competition in March 2026. Congratulations to Livvie and Tabitha on this outstanding accomplishment and for representing Columbus Catholic so well.
