Although Mother Nature Had Others Plans, Thorp Middle School Students Nominated for Honors Band Festival

On Friday, January 23, 2026, UWEC hosted their annual MS Honors Band Festival.

Over 500 students across Minnesota and Wisconsin were nominated and around 300 were accepted. There were so many nominations this year that the UWEC Band Program decided to split the event into 4 groups.

Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans for Thorp students that day, so they were unable to attend. The following students would have spent the entire day rehearsing with their groups and attending masterclasses/sectionals with UWEC music students, followed by a performance in the evening.

They were nominated for their hard work, leadership, and dedication to their overall musical growth and passion for music. Let's give a shout out to Kalli, Misaina, Greta, Audra, Makenzie, Adalynn, and Carli for their acceptance into the UWEC MS Honors Band.
