The City of Marshfield will remove ash trees on the north end of Pecan Parkway in February.

This is a proactive approach to remove ash trees before they become hazardous from being infected with the Emerald Ash Borer. Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) is an invasive wood-boring insect detected in the City of Marshfield in January 2021.

The insect kills Ash trees by feeding underneath the bark and disrupting the transportation of water and nutrients. Widespread mortality can be expected among untreated ash trees.

A planting effort will be conducted in the spring following the Ash tree cutting, with a diverse selection of tree species suited to the site. For more information on EAB, please visit our Forestry page on the City’s website.

For more information about this project, please contact our Parks and Recreation Department at 715-384-4642.
